If you see an event listed which you would like to attend it is important to contact the person named to check that the event is still on, and that the club will be attending. Sometimes for unforeseen reasons the event is cancelled.

1999 Events Calendar

Here are the Events we attended in the 1999 season:


21st Ford Enthusiasts’ Show at Donington Racing Circuit East Midlands Airport (Jnc 23A on M1) “an indoor Ford Fair”. Club Stand. Big Show with wide variety of classic Fords. Cars for Sale area tel: (01568) 797228. Tickets per head if order tickets before 7th March or on day.


30th Granada Bank Holiday Weekend at The Kingfisher Caravan Park, Stokes Bay, Gosport, Hampshire. Arrive Friday afternoon onwards. Saturday free day for local Heritage visits, shopping or trip to the Isle of Wight! Sunday Car Show in Submarine Museum Car Park. Social Get-togethers in evenings. Static 6-berth caravans for hire.

2nd/3rd Bedfordshire Classic Motor Show at Shuttleworth near Biggleswade. Contact Liz ‘n’ Linzi Reed on (01462) 850206.

30th/31st The 1999 Yorkshire Regional Showday York Racecourse.

6th Somerset Rally to the Nigel Mansell Museum of Formula One Cars at Woodbury Park, Exeter. 100-mile route. Starts at Windwhistle Pub on the A30 between Chard and Crewkerne. Coastal route, nice scenery. per entry, includes cream tea.

13th National Showday and Concours Drayton Manor Park, Nr Tamworth, Staffs. Concours categories: Original, Modified, Working (2000 to 8000 miles per annum), Working (Over 8000 miles per annum), Custom (mainly paint jobs), Best Interior, Best Engine Bay, Car of the Day (members’ choice), Member of the Year. Zoo and Rides for family, reduced entry fee on display of club window sticker or membership card.

12th All-Granada Clubs Together at Billing Aquadrome, Northamptonshire. Theme: “Unleaded Solutions”. Concours. Trade Stands for “unleaded” products and services. We were aiming to beat the record for the largest-ever gathering of Granadas, and we reckon we achieved it with over 300 Granadas on and around the field. The weather held warm, dry and reasonably sunny for us which always helps on these occasions. A good time was had by all and it will be repeated next year. This year’s event was organised by ourselves, the Granada Enthusiasts’ Club. Last year it was organised by the Granada Mk I & II Driver’s Guild and they have generously offered to organise it again next year. We may be talking about a two-day event, if not next year then soon in the future. Here are two montages of photos providing panoramic views of the field:
